- Vacuous Explanation - when trying to explain a phenomenon, using a concept that does not contain more information than the phenomenon itself
- Vague Similarities - when arguing for one hypothesis to be true, pointing out another, true hypothesis having some superficial similarities to the first
- Vagueness - using a term that has fuzzy boundaries as if it hadn't
- Variant Imagization - when arguing for one hypothesis, using words that presuppose that hypothesis to be true
- Very Simple Answer - if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail to you
- Vicious Circle - "A must be true because B is true, and we know that B is true because of A"
- Violating the Principle of Occam's Razor - proposing an explanation containing unnecessary entities
- Virtue of the Poor - "he's poor, he must be right"
- Volvo Fallacy - preferring available interesting single cases to statistics
